Educational Requirements:
∎ Master's or Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Education background in Special Education, Inclusive Education or another field of study related to Education is preferable.

Job Context:
∎ The Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) is a not for profit organization established in 1996 to develop a more inclusive society for persons with disabilities. CDD simultaneously builds technical capacities of the development stakeholders and the communities in how to be more inclusive whilst also enabling persons with a disability to participate in society by strengthening their leadership and providing them with essential rehabilitation and other supports.
∎ CDD is one of the most renowned organizations in the field of disability-inclusive development. CDD`s work in Bangladesh is supported by international and national donor agencies/development partners. CDD offers an inclusive, amicable, and respectable work environment.
∎ The Ramon Magsaysay Award (Asian version of the Noble prize) has been awarded to its Executive Director in 2010. In 2018, CDD was recognized by the Government of Bangladesh as one of the best organizations working on disability and development issues.
∎ CDD is accepting application under the project named `Shobai Miley Shikhi Activity (SMSA)`, funded by USAID and supported by RTI International.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Visit the government primary schools in different sub-districts and determine the accessibility of the school compounds including, the classroom, playground, toilets, ramp and other facilities.
∎ Develop various data collection instruments (FGD questionnaire, In-depth interview guide,) and their contextualization prior to field test with project participants.
∎ Conduct orientation sessions on accessibility and reasonable accommodation in the classrooms of government primary schools and generate necessary reports.
∎ Refine applicable existing policies/guidelines on Universal Design for Learning and Reasonable Accommodation in collaboration with Research Triangle Institute (RTI), International.
∎ Develop and maintain the database of children with disabilities, who need referral services in project locations and follow up on the progress with field staff and other important stakeholders.
∎ Assess and analyze the technical knowledge gaps of the School Community Officers (SCOs) and School Community Facilitators (SCFs) in implementing field-level interventions and provide them with need-based capacity-building support.
∎ Develop various narrative reports highlighting the changes due to the project interventions and documentation of good practices (case stories) for knowledge management.
∎ Joint monitoring visits with the lead project partners and other sub-partners on the field interventions in the project locations to identify the possible bottlenecks and their way out.
∎ Maintain regular contact with local-level govt. education officials, NGOs, CDD's partners' staff, self-help groups, and other disability-like-minded networks working for the promotion of disability related services in the community.
∎ Steer different meetings and facilitate training and workshops in conjunction with project partners on Universal Design Learning (UDL), Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and other priority topics of inclusive education.
∎ Perform any other duty as assigned by the supervisor/authority.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 22 to 45 years
∎ Experience in the development of educational training manuals, materials, and implementation of professional development plans for teachers and educational officials, with a focus on pedagogy, inclusive methods, gender responsive teaching, behavioral management, and technological support.
∎ Knowledge of Inclusive Education
∎ Experience in working with community groups.
∎ Experience in working with Local Government.
∎ Excellent networking skills and proven experience of working with government institutions, preferably with education sector
∎ Working experience on accessibility issue with the primary education officials.
∎ Ability to mobilize the community and facilitate meetings.
∎ Willingness and commitment to work closely with children with disabilities.
∎ Experience in working with the inclusion of children with disabilities in Education sector.
∎ Ability to analyze data and produce report
∎ Experience working with children with disabilities, schoolteachers, education officials,
∎ Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
∎ Ability to work independently and as part of a team,
∎ Excellent communication and writing ability in English and Bangla Language,
∎ Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
