Responsibilities & Context:

To lead and oversee the entire factory operations ensuring efficient, high-quality production aligned with company goals. Responsible for strategic planning, production management, quality, maintenance, safety, and continuous improvement in an automotive manufacturing environment.

  • Lead the end-to-end factory operations including production, maintenance, quality, stores, EHS, and logistics.

  • Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with business goals (cost, quality, delivery).

  • Manage budgets, cost control initiatives, and factory P&L (if applicable).

  • Ensure production schedules are met as per customer requirements (Just-in-Time, takt time, etc.).

  • Oversee capacity planning, line balancing, and resource optimization.

  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices (Kaizen, TPM, SMED, 5S).

  • Ensure defect-free products through effective QA/QC systems and process controls.

  • Handle audits, certifications, and statutory compliance (pollution control, labor laws, etc.).

  • Lead a cross-functional team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians.

  • Build capability through training, mentoring, and performance management.

  • Foster a culture of ownership, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance for machines and utilities.

  • Ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability (OEE targets).

  • Drive digitalization or Industry 4.0 initiatives if applicable.

  • Collaborate with SCM, R&D, QA, HR, and senior management.

  • Represent the plant in customer visits, audits, and reviews.

  • Work closely with suppliers and vendors for equipment, spares, and services.
