Additional Requirements: - 4–7 years of experience in fabric store operations in dyeing/finishing units.
- Knowledge of textile fabrics, shrinkage, GSM, color fastness, and QA clearance procedures.
- Proficiency in Excel, ERP software, inventory tracking tools.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Responsibilities & Context: 1. Fabric Receiving & Inspection
- Ensure timely receiving of dyed and finished fabrics from the production department.
- Physically inspect fabric rolls for shade, GSM, width, defects, and lot matching.
- Verify against production reports and quality assurance (QA) clearance.
2. Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory of finished fabrics using store management software (e.g., ERP, Excel).
- Ensure FIFO (First In First Out) method is followed.
- Tag and barcode each fabric roll for identification and tracking.
- Conduct regular stock reconciliations and report discrepancies.
3. Storage & Preservation
- Organize and store fabric rolls systematically by buyer, color, batch, and lot.
- Ensure proper storage conditions to avoid fabric damage, contamination, or shade variation.
- Implement fabric safety measures to protect from fire, dust, moisture, or pests.
4. Issuance of Fabric
- Issue finished fabrics to the cutting section or garment unit based on job card or order plan.
- Ensure accuracy in roll selection and documentation during issuance.
- Coordinate with production planning and cutting teams for daily fabric requirements.
5. Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain all records of fabric received, issued, and balance stock.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.
- Ensure proper documentation for internal audits, buyer compliance audits, and inventory audits.
6. Coordination with Departments
- Liaise with dyeing, finishing, quality, production, planning, and merchandising teams.
- Update relevant departments regarding available stock and pending deliveries.
- Notify QA and planning of any mismatches, delays, or quality rejections.
7. Team Supervision
- Supervise fabric store staff and ensure they follow SOPs for handling, storing, and documentation.
- Allocate tasks, provide training, and monitor performance.
- Ensure discipline, safety, and cleanliness in the store area.
8. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all fabric handling and storage activities comply with buyer audit standards (Primark, C&A, LPP, etc., if applicable).
- Implement and maintain fire safety, PPE usage, material handling procedures, and store housekeeping.
- Be audit-ready at all times (internal, external, buyer, or third-party).
9. System & Software Operation
- Operate ERP or store software for inventory entries and tracking.
- Generate GRN (Goods Received Note), Issue Slips, and Stock Balance Sheets.
- Ensure data is up to date and free from errors.
