Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Fashion Technology, or related field.
Minimum 15 years of experience with at least 5 years in a managerial role overseeing Sample & CAD operations.
Proven track record of managing technical processes for leading international buyers or brands.
Strong expertise in Sample & CAD management, pattern development, and fit analysis.
Proficiency in CAD software.
In-depth knowledge of knit garments and working experience with woven products.
Excellent understanding of garment construction, grading, and size specifications.
Strong leadership, planning, and cross-functional coordination skills.
Effective communication with buyers, technical teams, and production units.
Product Development
• Manage the entire sample development process from design interpretation to final sample approval.
• Coordinate closely with merchandising and production teams to ensure alignment with buyer requirements and timelines.
• Review and interpret buyer tech packs, comments, and specifications, providing technical guidance to related departments.
• Ensure product innovation, proper fit, and aesthetic appeal throughout development stages.
CAD & Pattern Management
• Supervise CAD operations, pattern creation, grading, and marker planning using software such as Gemini / Lectra / Gerber.
• Verify grade rules and fit measurements before handing over bulk patterns.
• Ensure accurate fabric consumption and yield estimation based on buyer tech packs.
• Maintain digital pattern library and ensure seamless version control across teams.
Technical Oversight
• Oversee all technical aspects of garment construction, ensuring efficiency and quality.
• Implement production-friendly methods and process improvements to reduce sampling lead time and wastage.
• Provide technical training and support to pattern makers, sample operators, and CAD team members.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to fit, fabric behavior, and washing issues.
Communication & Coordination
• Act as the single technical point of contact with buyers / buying houses for fit, pattern, and technical clarifications.
• Collaborate with QA and production teams to ensure smooth transition from sampling to bulk.
• Liaise with R&D and design teams for continuous innovation and efficiency improvement.
