Responsibilities & Context:
∎ The Deputy General Manager (Engineering) in Cold Storage is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the engineering operations within a cold storage facility. This position involves strategic planning, project management, and ensuring the efficient functioning of all engineering aspects related to cold storage infrastructure.
∎ Responsibilities:
∎ Provide leadership and direction to the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
∎ Supervise, mentor, and guide engineering staff, ensuring effective communication and optimal team dynamics.
∎ Develop and implement strategic plans for the engineering department, aligning with overall organizational goals.
∎ Oversee the maintenance and optimization of cold storage systems, including refrigeration units, HVAC systems, M&E and other related equipment.
∎ Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for cold storage operations.
∎ Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the integrity of stored products and efficient cold chain management.
∎ Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
∎ Develop and manage the engineering department budget, monitoring expenses, and optimizing resource allocation.
∎ Work closely with the finance department to ensure financial goals are met and exceeded where possible.
∎ Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, logistics, and safety, to ensure seamless integration and coordination of activities.
∎ Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute engineering expertise to support overall business objectives.
