Job Responsibilities

• Material Preparation: Inspect fabrics or raw stock for flaws, measure dimensions (GSM, width, grain/warp direction), and lay out material uniformly.

• Machine Operation & Programming: Set up and run manual, automated, or computer-controlled cutting devices (such as straight knives, die-cutters, or laser/auto-cutters).

• Quality & Waste Control: Align patterns efficiently to minimize material waste, verify cut pieces against blueprints or job travelers, and sort parts by shade or size.

• Maintenance & Logs: Perform routine equipment maintenance, troubleshoot minor mechanical or software issues, and track output and scrap data.

Job Context & Environment

• Work Setting: Typically fast-paced manufacturing plants, apparel factories, or industrial workshops.

• Physical Demands: Requires standing for long shifts, manual dexterity, and lifting medium-to-heavy raw materials.

• Collaboration: Works closely with production planning, quality control (QC), and design teams to ensure seamless input into assembly or sewing lines.
