UTAH Fashions Ltd., a renowned 100% export-oriented knit composite company in Bangladesh, is seeking an experienced, dynamic & high-potential professional as Sample Manager / In-Charge (Activewear) for the Garments Division in Gazipur.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily operations in the sample room to ensure timely delivery of all activewear sample types (Proto, Fit, SMS, Size Set, PP).
Review tech packs, fabric stretch factors & artwork specs with CAD pattern makers & sample tailors prior to cutting performance fabrics.
Provide hands-on technical guidance on specialized activewear construction, including flatlock seam assembly, seam bonding, and heat-transfer application.
Coordinate closely with merchandising, fabric development, and printing/embellishment teams to resolve technical and stretch recovery discrepancies.
Supervise fabric resting and tension-free cutting procedures for elastane/spandex blends to prevent panel distortion and sizing errors.
Track critical sample development timelines and maintain daily progress updates for merchandising and factory management.
Inspect completed activewear samples strictly against buyer spec sheets, stretch tolerances, seam strength, and aesthetic standards prior to dispatch.
Conduct technical feasibility evaluations during sampling to identify and resolve potential mass-production bottlenecks on flatlock lines.
Prepare accurate Sample History Sheets, stretch testing logs, and construction mock-ups for Pre-Production (PP) alignment meetings.
Demonstrate and execute critical activewear sewing operations—such as gusset insertion, elastic waistband attaching, sports bra cup assembly, and flatseam joining—when required.
Manage, mentor, and evaluate sample tailors and machine operators on high-stretch fabric handling and precise attachment utilization.
Attend buyer fit sessions to address feedback regarding garment compression, anti-chafing seam placement, and ergonomic mobility.
Enforce strict quality control standards within the sample room to maintain high First-Time Right (FTR) sample acceptance rates.
Ensure regular maintenance, thread tension setup, and folder/attachment calibration for flatlock, coverstitch, and seam-bonding equipment.
Maintain an organized physical library and digital record of approved activewear samples, pattern revisions, and buyer comments.
