Responsibilities & Context:

UTAH Fashions Ltd., a renowned 100% export-oriented knit composite company in Bangladesh, is seeking an experienced, dynamic & high-potential professional as Manager - Cutting (Jacket) for the Garments Division in Gazipur.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily cutting room operations, lay planning, and execution for complex outerwear and jacket orders.

  • Optimize fabric consumption, marker efficiency, and CAD layouts to minimize overall fabric cut-loss.

  • Monitor bulk fabric spreading, cutting precision, shade grouping, and stripe/check pattern matching.

  • Ensure accurate cutting, fusing, and bundling of shell, lining, wadding, and interlining materials.

  • Maintain strict cutting quality standards, performing regular panel audits to eliminate cut-defects.

  • Manage daily cutting targets, throughput, and workflow balance to ensure uninterrupted supply to sewing lines.

  • Supervise and train CAD operators, spreaders, cutter operators, and bundlers to improve productivity.

  • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety standards, and 5S on the cutting floor.

  • Collaborate with Merchandising, CAD, and QA teams to quickly resolve panel, fabric, or measurement discrepancies.

  • Drive strict inventory control on cut-waste, scrap generation, and end-loss reporting to maximize yield.

  • Oversee automated cutting (CAM) and spreading machine operations, including scheduled preventative maintenance.

  • Ensure accurate bundle numbering, panel inspection, and timely dispatch to sub-assembly and sewing sections.

  • Prepare fabric reconciliation reports after order completion to track actual vs. budgeted consumption.

  • Lead, motivate, and manage workforce allocation and performance appraisals for the cutting floor team.
