Responsibilities & Context:

UTAH Fashions Ltd., a renowned 100% export-oriented knit composite company in Bangladesh, is seeking an experienced, dynamic & high-potential professional as Manager - Quality (Jacket) for the Garments Division in Gazipur.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage overall QA/QC operations for outerwear and jacket manufacturing from raw material receiving through final shipment.

  • Review buyer tech packs, sealing samples, and complex jacket construction details to establish style-specific Quality SOPs.

  • Conduct daily in-line, end-line, and AQL audits across all sewing and finishing lines to identify and rectify defects early.

  • Monitor critical jacket manufacturing processes, including seam sealing, padding/down fill weight uniformity, and lining attachment.

  • Lead Pre-Production (PP) meetings with production, merchandising, and technical teams to identify risks before bulk cutting.

  • Manage buyer QA inspections and third-party audit teams (e.g., SGS, Bureau Veritas, ITS) for pre-shipment approvals.

  • Oversee incoming raw material quality checks, including fabric shade band, shrinkage, water repellency, and trim compatibility.

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and execute Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA) plans for recurring production defects.

  • Inspect fit samples, dummy mock-ups, and pattern construction to ensure compliance with buyer specifications before bulk run.

  • Mentor and train factory QA/QC teams, line auditors, and section supervisors on buyer quality manuals and AQL standards.

  • Enforce strict adherence to buyer needle safety policies, sharp tool protocols, and metal detection compliance procedures.

  • Track daily sewing & finishing DHU metrics & report key quality KPIs to senior management.

  • Supervise garment finishing, heavy pressing/ironing standards, hanging details, carton packing, and moisture control.

  • Ensure complete alignment with brand-specific technical guidelines, restricted substance lists (RSL) & international standards.
