Educational Requirements:

Job Context:
∎ Location: Dhaka with possible visits to field locations
∎ Reports to: Head of Portfolio
∎ Purpose: Support Swisscontact Bangladesh`s project portfolio development initiatives and provide technical support to project implementation and support knowldge management for Bangladesh country office.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Portfolio development (70%)
∎ Support development of new project concepts and proposals;Support new project start-ups following Swisscontact's guidelines;
∎ Provide necessary technical support for effective implementation of projects in Bangladesh;
∎ Work with Swisscontact's teams in the South Asian region;
∎ Research latest trends in pro-poor market systems development and keep oneself updated;
∎ Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of private foundations and corporations that can be potential donors for Swisscontact;
∎ Develop and maintain networks in the private and public sector;
∎ Gather relevant information new project proposals;
∎ Undertake field research; and
∎ Represent Swisscontact at relevant events.
∎ Knowledge Management (30%)
∎ Work as the knowledge management focal point of the country office;
∎ Work closely with the project TLs to develop and maintain a process to identify relevant learnings from project activities, document and communicate them systematically;
∎ Develop knowledge products for different target audience to communicate Swisscontact's learnings
∎ Collaborate with different project teams and support mechanisms for internal learning across the country office;
∎ Participate and contribute to the Swisscontact's global learning event and networks;
∎ Assure the quality of content for all the external reports from projects

Additional Requirements:
∎ Passionate and commited about developing a career within Swisscontact;
∎ Strong understanding of private sector and private sector development in Bangladesh;
∎ Previous experience in business development and fund raising will be valuable;
∎ Previous understanding of development project implementation will be an advantage;
∎ Experience of working in private sector/establishing or running own business will be valuable;
∎ At least 4- 6 years of professional work experience in development agency or for-profit entity ;
∎ Advanced communication skill in both English and Bangla (verbal and written);
∎ Excellent computer literacy in Windows Office programs (especially MsWord, Excel and PowerPoint);
∎ Work in a team to deliver high quality work within deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment; and
∎ Willing and able to travel within and outside Bangladesh is a must.
