Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Lead the research and development of new knitted fabric innovations, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer requirements.
∎ Manage end-to-end fabric development projects, from concept to bulk production, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely execution.
∎ Develop new yarn blends, knitting structures, and finishing techniques to enhance fabric performance and sustainability.
∎ Collaborate with designers, production teams, and suppliers to optimize fabric properties and manufacturing efficiency.
∎ Analyze fabric test reports, troubleshoot quality issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain consistency and performance standards.
∎ Coordinate with buyers and merchandising teams to understand fabric requirements and provide technical solutions.
∎ Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and sustainability guidelines in fabric development processes.
∎ Monitor market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to drive innovation in fabric development.
∎ Train and mentor R&D teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
∎ Liaise with production and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth transition from R&D to bulk manufacturing.
