Educational Qualifications: Master’s degree (MSc) in Mathematics/Physics, or Chemistry. Bachelor’s degree (BSc) is considered for female candidates.
Year of Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience teaching Mathematics/Science at the secondary level or above.
Mandatory Requirements:
Strong proficiency in English communication is a must; IELTS certification is an advantage.·
Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience teaching Mathematics/Science at the secondary level or above.·
Solid understanding of subject content, pedagogy, and effective teaching methodologies.·
Familiarity with English-medium curricula and their implementation.·
Practical knowledge of science laboratory operations, including the use of microscopes and other instruments.·
Ability to provide one-to-one academic support and mentoring to teachers facing instructional challenges.·
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.·

Position Title: Academic Support Officer-Secondary Education
Location: Refugee camps in Teknaf & Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh
Reports to: Project Coordinator
Objectives of the Role:
· Provide quality education to the refugee students based on the Pearson Edexcel Curriculum.
· Strengthen the capacity of secondary school teachers with a deep understanding of Mathematics and Science content.
Key Responsibilities:
· Facilitate regular classes for learners in secondary schools on specific subjects (Mathematics/ Science), ensuring the quality learning of the students under the Pearson Edexcel curriculum.
· Develop and implement comprehensive, interactive lesson plans to promote effective learning.
· Promote inquiry-based, hands-on, and student-centred learning in the assigned subjects.
· Monitor student progress, prepare assessment reports, identify learning gaps, and implement remedial measures in consultation with the Technical Officer.
· Provide targeted support to teachers in understanding complex Math/Science concepts.
· Collaborate with head teachers, teachers, and community stakeholders to ensure learner attendance and achievement of learning targets.
· Conduct practical science classes using school laboratories, ensuring safe and effective use of equipment.
· Administer formative and summative assessments for learners.
· Support teachers in lesson planning, assessment strategies, classroom management, and delivery of practical lessons.
· Contribute to teacher professional development and capacity-building initiatives.
· Undertake any other relevant tasks assigned by the authority.
