Education:
    • Bachelor of Social Science (BSS)
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree is preferred.

  • Familiarity with local governance structures and the socio-economic context of the upazila.

Responsibilities & Context:

The Upazila Coordinator will play a critical role in coordinating and overseeing the "Gender Uplifting for Inclusive Development and Community Empowerment-GUIDANCE" project at the Upazila (sub-district) level. The role involves managing and supporting field operations, ensuring smooth project implementation, and working closely with local stakeholders, civil society organizations (CSOs), and community members to promote gender equality and inclusive development. The Upazila Coordinator will act as the key liaison between the project and the community, ensuring that activities are carried out in line with project objectives and local needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Implementation and Coordination

  • Oversee the day-to-day implementation of project activities in the assigned upazila, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.

  • Develop detailed activity plans, work schedules, and targets to guide field-level project execution in collaboration with the project team.

  • Monitor the progress of project activities, identifying potential challenges and proactively addressing them to ensure timely delivery of results.

  • Ensure that project activities promote gender equality, community empowerment, and inclusive development in line with the project’s core objectives.

  • Coordinate with community leaders, CSOs, local government representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and maximum community participation.

2. Stakeholder Engagement and Community Mobilization

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local government authorities, community-based organizations, and gender advocates, to foster collaboration and buy-in for project activities.

  • Lead community mobilization efforts to encourage active participation from local communities, particularly marginalized and vulnerable groups, in the project.

  • Facilitate the capacity building of CSOs and community leaders, empowering them to take ownership of gender and development initiatives in their local areas.

  • Act as a spokesperson for the project at the upazila level, representing the project in public forums, meetings, and events.

3. Monitoring and Reporting

  • Regularly monitor and track project progress against set targets, indicators, and milestones at the upazila level, ensuring timely data collection and documentation.

  • Prepare and submit progress reports to the Project Manager, outlining key achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.

  • Work closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team to ensure accurate and reliable data is collected and reported for all project activities.

  • Identify any risks to the project and propose mitigation strategies in coordination with the project team.

4. Financial and Administrative Management

  • Ensure that project resources are utilized effectively and transparently, adhering to budgetary guidelines and donor requirements.

  • Oversee financial administration at the upazila level, including tracking expenses, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with project finance policies.

  • Support procurement processes by identifying and managing local vendors and service providers in line with project needs and procurement policies.

  • Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and properly archived.

5. Capacity Building and Technical Support

  • Facilitate training and capacity-building sessions for CSOs, community leaders, and project beneficiaries to enhance their knowledge and skills in gender equality, community development, and leadership.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to field staff and CSO partners, ensuring they are equipped to implement project activities effectively.

  • Ensure that all project interventions are gender-sensitive and inclusive, addressing the specific needs of women, youth, and marginalized groups.

6. Advocacy and Networking

  • Lead advocacy efforts at the upazila level, promoting gender equality, inclusive development, and the importance of women’s empowerment in community decision-making processes.

  • Establish and maintain strong networks with local stakeholders, including CSOs, local government, media, and development partners, to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.

  • Support local advocacy campaigns aimed at influencing policy and promoting gender-sensitive service delivery in the upazila.

    · Monthly salary and allowances will be Tk 42,500 / -, in addition two (2) festival bonus in a year.
