Job Context :

The Technical Officer-Agriculture will be responsible to organize and facilitate several agro based training and workshop, establish agriculture demonstration, develop farmers capacity, technical support to farmers, effective network and coordination with sever agriculture stakeholders etc. As per the requirement of the project, Technical Officer-Agriculture will oversee properly and effectively implement the training and providing necessary technical support to Field team members under the project.

Major Role and Responsibilities:

The Technical Officer-Agriculture will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Technical Officer-Agriculture will facilitate Comprehensive Homestead Development (CHD), integrated farming, organic farming etc.

• TO’s responsibilities involve monitoring of project plans and monitoring of activities perform by other staff, particularly in technical related activities.

• Responsible for capacity building of the project team members as well as beneficiaries.

• Build linkage among the communities, Livelihood Promoter, Community Facilitators with the relevant line agencies (Govt.) and private sectors.

• Make sample check of the Community facilitators and Livelihood Promoters work to integration, quality implementation and impact of the project activities.

• Identifying and examining nutrient deficiencies and soil characteristics of farmer/BNFs land.

• Assisting in developing new methods of planting, fertilizing, harvesting and processing crops to achieve optimum land usage.

• Identifying pathogenic micro-organisms and insects, parasites, fungi and weeds harmful to crops and livestock & Fisheries and assisting in devising methods of control.

• Close Coordination with Govt. department the supply of drugs, vaccines and other chemicals to BNFs and giving advice on their use.

• Develop training module, IEC & BCC materials, project training plan, organize and facilitate different training and guide the team members for achieving project goal.

• Advise producers on farming techniques and management to improve the efficiency and sustainability of farms and related agricultural enterprises.

• Collect and analyse samples of produce, feed, soil, water and other elements that can be used to develop more efficient techniques for solving agricultural problems.

• Build linkage among the Beneficiaries, service providers, Govt. department and private sectors for accessing their services and establish market linkage.

• Assist procurement and Logistic department for ensuring quality agricultural inputs.

• Provide support to field team members to distribute agricultural inputs and organize different event at field level with the collaboration of Project Officers.

• Prepare training report, collect case study and perform other duties as assigned by Project Coordinator.

• Safeguarding and PSEA: To meet the program's objectives for safeguarding and PSEA implementation, make sure team members are protected from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation. serve as a major resource for help, direction, and knowledge on safeguarding & Child protection for developing a safe workplace. To ensure that safeguarding standards are used in every course of action, team members should practice, advocate, and embrace safeguarding policy concerns.
