Education:
  • Master's degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Early Childhood Development, International Development, or any other relevant discipline from a recognized university.

  • Additional training in Project Management, Child Protection, Safeguarding, Gender, or Humanitarian Programming will be considered an asset.

  • At least 7 years of professional experience in project management and implementation in the NGO/INGO sector.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing education, early childhood development, child protection, play-based learning, or child-focused humanitarian projects.

  • Experience working in the Rohingya refugee response and host communities in Cox's Bazar is highly preferred.

  • Proven experience in donor-funded project management, reporting, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination.

  • Strong understanding of child development, play-based learning approaches, safeguarding, child protection, and gender-responsive programming.

  • Demonstrated experience working with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and community stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and report-writing skills in English and Bangla.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL).

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

  • Willingness to travel frequently to project locations.

Responsibilities & Context:

Context & Responsibilities

The Project Manager will provide overall leadership, coordination, and management of the LEGO Foundation-funded project "Play to Learn 2.0: Advancing Scalable Solutions to Transform the Lives of Children on the Move" implemented by Mukti Cox's Bazar under a sub-grant agreement with BRAC under Sesame Workshop. The position will ensure quality implementation of project activities promoting learning through play, child well-being, caregiver engagement, and child protection among Rohingya and host community children.

Project Planning and Management

  • Lead overall project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.

  • Develop detailed implementation plans, work plans, procurement plans, and budgets.

  • Ensure project activities are implemented on time, within budget, and according to agreed targets and quality standards.

  • Ensure integration of child-centered, gender-responsive, and inclusive approaches throughout project implementation.

Team Leadership and Supervision

  • Supervise and support project staff to achieve project objectives.

  • Conduct regular performance monitoring, coaching, and capacity-building initiatives.

  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment.

Stakeholder Coordination and Representation

  • Maintain effective coordination with BRAC, Sesame Workshop, LEGO Foundation representatives, local authorities, CiC offices, sector partners, community leaders, and other stakeholders.

  • Represent Mukti Cox's Bazar in relevant coordination meetings, workshops, and forums.

  • Foster partnerships that support project objectives and sustainability.

Budget and Financial Management

  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure compliance with approved budgets.

  • Review financial reports and forecasts.

  • Ensure efficient utilization of resources and compliance with organizational and donor requirements.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)

  • Ensure implementation of project monitoring systems and learning frameworks.

  • Review progress against targets and indicators.

  • Promote evidence-based decision-making and adaptive project management.

  • Support documentation of lessons learned, success stories, and best practices.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and submit high-quality narrative reports, updates, and presentations.

  • Ensure timely reporting to management and donor partners.

  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation.

Risk Management and Compliance

  • Identify operational risks and develop mitigation measures.

  • Ensure compliance with donor agreements, organizational policies, and humanitarian standards.

  • Monitor contextual changes and adjust implementation strategies accordingly.

Safeguarding, Child Protection and PSEA

  • Safeguarding and PSEA: To meet the program's objectives for safeguarding and PSEA implementation, make sure team members are protected from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation. Serve as a major resource for help, direction, and knowledge on safeguarding for developing a safe workplace. To ensure that safeguarding standards are used in every course of action, team members should practice, advocate, and embrace safeguarding policy concerns.

  • Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, child protection, PSEA, and organizational policies.

  • Promote safe programming and establish mechanisms for identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns.

  • Ensure staff understand and uphold safeguarding standards in all activities.
