Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Apparel export merchandising may be defined as 'all the planning & activities involved right from the buyer communication & order receiving till the execution or shipment of the order.
∎ The major role of a senior merchandiser is to monitor an order, from first to last. Merchandiser also plays a role in maintaining and accelerating the working execution speed.
∎ The senior merchandiser with more experience must be autonomous in his job and is the real support for the merchandiser manager.
∎ To maintain a professional relationship between the buyer and the manufacturer.
∎ To maintain communication with the marketing/sales director and the customers’ local offices.
∎ To prepare the order costing and price quoting.
∎ To collect the PO (purchase order) from the buyer.
∎ To prepare an order plan, according to the right product, in the right place, at the right time, in the right quantities, at the right price, in the right promotion.
∎ To break down the order sheet. To maintain merchandising files (checklist, tech-pack, purchase order, approved trim card).
∎ To set up the TNA to maintain merchandising files and update the time and action plan (TNA).To monitor the garment sample process according to the buyer's requirements.
∎ To collect all of the garment fabric, accessories & trims.
∎ To get lab dips. To ensure buyer approval for all types of samples.
∎ To ensure raw materials are in-house, the Merchandiser ensures all raw materials are in-house as per requirements.
∎ To make sure productions follow up.
∎ To get all test reports as per the buyer's requirement, to organize inspection with 3rd part inspection companies.
∎ To maintain merchandising files and update the time and action plan (TNA).To follow Product development (Sampling) for marketing.
