Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Support the Head of Merchandising in developing and executing merchandising strategies to achieve sales targets, maximize profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction.
∎ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate market insights, customer feedback, and business objectives into actionable merchandising plans and product assortments.
∎ Assist in product development activities, including trend analysis, concept ideation, sample review, and product testing, ensuring alignment with brand identity and customer needs.
∎ Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely production and delivery of merchandise.
∎ Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and product lifecycle stages to identify opportunities for optimizing assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.
∎ Conduct regular market research, competitor analysis, and consumer surveys to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for innovation.
∎ Prepare merchandising presentations, sales forecasts, and performance reports for internal stakeholders and senior management, highlighting key insights, trends, and recommendations.
∎ Monitor and track merchandising KPIs, including sell-through rates, margin analysis, and inventory turnover, and take proactive measures to address any performance gaps or issues.
∎ Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in merchandising, and share relevant insights and knowledge with the team to drive continuous improvement.
∎ Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior merchandising staff, helping them develop their skills, grow their capabilities, and contribute to the overall success of the department.
