Sector Specialist - Market Development position will provide strategic and technical leadership to strengthen market linkages, enhance the capacity of Aggregation Centers (ACs), and ensure efficient supply chain operations. This role focuses on business development, stakeholder engagement, and revenue generation for sustainable market systems.
Capacity Building of Aggregation Centers (ACs)
Support for operational, managerial, and technical capacity of Aggregation Centers so they can function independently, efficiently, and sustainably.
Lead capacity-building initiatives for Aggregation Centers through trainings, workshops, mentoring, and on-the-job technical support.
Supply Chain, Market Linkages and Retailer Engagement
Ensure efficient, transparent, and timely supply chain operations linking producers, Aggregation Centers, and market outlets.
Oversee local supply chain operations, ensuring timely and efficient transactions of food commodities to FFC/E-voucher shops and off-farm products to EFSN shops.
Strengthen market access and demand by building strong linkages between Aggregation Centers, camp-based retailers, and local markets.
Maintain regular coordination and communication with camp-based retailers and local market actors, facilitating strong linkages with Aggregation Centers.
Business Development and Revenue Generation
Work to enhance financial sustainability of Aggregation Centers through diversified business opportunities and improved commercial practices.
Identify, design, and initiate business development opportunities for Aggregation Centers to enhance revenue generation and long-term sustainability.
Stakeholder Partnership, Coordination, Cooperative Governance and Compliance
Expand market opportunities and service access through effective collaboration with public and private stakeholders. Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant public and private stakeholders for input supply, service provision, and market access.
Ensure Aggregation Centers and cooperatives are legally compliant, well-governed, and institutionally strengthened.
Support governance strengthening of cooperatives, including registration, business planning, leadership development, and compliance with legal requirements (TIN, VAT, Trade License, cooperative subscriptions, and by-laws).
Documentation, Reporting, and Monitoring
Ensure accountability, learning, and evidence-based decision-making through accurate documentation and timely reporting.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping at Aggregation Centers, including financial records, transaction logs, and operational reports.
Prepare timely activity reports, market analysis, and progress updates, and contribute to monitoring and learning processes.
Safeguarding:
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
