Education:
  • Diploma in Midwifery from a government-approved training institute with a valid license from the Bangladesh Nursing & Midwifery Council (BNMC).

  • Candidates should have a minimum 5 years of experience in health relevant project and must have a wide knowledge on SRHR, MNCH, Gender & other family/social issues that influence women and adolescent health.

  • Trained on health components, especially PHC, KMC, SRHR, MNCH including NVD.

  • Good computer knowledge on MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

Responsibilities & Context:

There is a vacancy for the following contractual position under the Community Health and Development Program (CHDP) for the Preventing and Rehabilitating Obstetric and Surgical Fistula through Gender-Responsive Reproductive Health Education and Strengthened Services (PROGRESS) Project.

Job Summary: The Midwife will provide quality midwifery care to all patients according to the spiritual values of LAMB and demonstrate leadership responsibility to all nursing staff. She will be responsible for adhering to child and vulnerable adult protection policies, and for reporting any allegation, concern, suspicion, or disclosure of abuse or neglect to the proper authorities as per policy. The midwife's role is to care for pregnant mothers. She will ensure that essential midwifery services are available 24/7, providing comprehensive patient care, conducting lab tests, following up on expected delivery dates (EDD) and postnatal care (PNC), and offering counseling for adolescents. The midwife will deliver quality care to all patients in accordance with the spiritual values of LAMB, while also demonstrating leadership to the nursing staff. She will be responsible for adhering to child and vulnerable adult protection policies and for reporting any allegations, concerns, suspicions, or disclosures of abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities, as outlined in the policies.

General:

  • Ensure proper care and interaction with pregnant mother and their families.

  • Collaborating with other FWV, FWA, SACMO, and related personnel on 24/7 delivery issues and carrying out orders from the Doctors.

  • Maintains a good relationship and communication with the pregnant mother.

  • Establish positive working relationships with all CHWs as well as with the volunteers

  • Assist pregnant mothers with antenatal care and post-natal care. 

 Quality control:

  • Assist in maintaining the quality of services following the guidelines (Delivery, ANC, PNC)

  • Follow  the protocols of ANC, Delivery and PNC services

 Environment

  • Maintain the management of medical waste properly, following the guidelines.

Documentation:

  • Maintain proper documentation of services by following the prescribed format or registers.

 Humanitarian response:

  • Support to the health camps during the disaster period for the disaster-affected people.

 Networking and advocacy:

  • Ensure good communication between the LAMB MNCH technical person and local level management

  • Time to time communicate with local-level government staff

  • Ensure good communication and relationship with the management committee, LGIs and other NGO

Beyond this,

  • Ensure spiritual concepts & holistic approach in communication, service delivery, administration and resolution of conflicts

  • Comply with LAMB policies and practices with respect to child protection, health and safety, equal opportunity and other relevant policies and organizational values.

  • Other responsibilities assigned by the line manager or organizational management. Be an example in implementing the project activities to the organizational mission, vision, and values.



Job Other Benifits:

    Salary: Around Tk. 27,700/- per month gross. Other benefits include provident fund, festival allowance once per year, and critical illness and death benefit.
