Responsibilities & Context:

The Project Officer – Safe Home Manager will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the Safe Shelter for GBV survivors. The position ensures safe, confidential and survivor-centered shelter services while coordinating psychosocial support, referrals and protection services in line with GBV guiding principles

• Manage the safe shelter ensuring safety, security and confidentiality of residents.

• Assess referrals and determine eligibility for shelter admission.

• Ensure shelter services follow GBV guiding principles and survivor-centered approaches.

• Maintain confidential documentation including admission forms, incident reports and consent forms.

• Coordinate with counsellors, case managers and service providers for referrals.

• Supervise shelter staff including security guards and cook/cleaner.

• Ensure hygiene, food provision and proper living conditions for residents.

• Monitor residents’ safety and wellbeing and enforce shelter rules.

• Respond to emergencies including security threats or health issues.

• Coordinate with UNHCR, CIC office and other humanitarian partners.

• Organize recreational or skill-based activities for residents.

• Prepare reports and communicate operational updates to supervisors.

• Ensure safeguarding standards and policies are implemented.

Safeguarding: 

•Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

•Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

•Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
