Job Responsibilities:
∎ Position description:
∎ JiVitA conducts community-based research on issues pertaining to female reproductive health in rural Bangladesh. The position holder will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing activities of above-mentioned project with the objective of conducting high-quality research within the research protocol, organizational values, and guidelines.
∎ The specific areas of responsibilities are detailed below:
∎ 1. Contribute to study design and research protocol development
∎ Provide inputs on design of community-based longitudinal cohort study in rural area
∎ Write protocols for visits, including questionnaires, anthropometry, and specimen collection
∎ Develop and maintain detailed manual of operations of research study protocols
∎ 2. Develop data collection tools (e.g., questionnaires, instruments etc.)
∎ Support development of health questionnaires and other data collection tools
∎ Oversee translation of questionnaires from English to Bangla for various studies
∎ Coordinate with data management center to convert tools into digital formats
∎ Plan and coordinate field testing and revision of data collection tools
∎ Ensure implementation of final versions of questionnaires during data collection
∎ Keep detailed records of changes to questionnaires during data collection
∎ 3.Support training of staff for research implementation
∎ Plan, coordinate and facilitate training on questionnaires and data collection instruments
∎ Train and standardize interviewers and technicians on interview technique and in collecting biological specimens
∎ Organize "need based" refresher training for the field team
∎ 4.Oversee planning and implementation of reproductive health research visit
∎ Ensure quality data collection by monitoring and rechecking the performance of the field staffs by regular field visit
∎ Clinic/home visit for QC observation of vaginal swabs collection process
∎ Implementing clinical expertise for STI and HPV testing
∎ 5. Take on responsibility for managing referrals, whenever it is necessary
∎ Manage referrals in accordance with the research protocol as well as assume responsibility for additional follow-up.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Obstetrician Gynecologists with an MPH or experience in public health or research are preferred
∎ Basic analytical experience on study progress overtime, and worker performance
∎ Good spoken and written communication skills both in Bangla and English
∎ Demonstrated computer proficiency in MS word, Excel and PowerPoint
∎ Must be willing to work at the field level in Gaibandha
∎ Ability to work under pressure efficiently, with commitment to meet deadlines
∎ Applicant must have excellent organizational skills and be extremely self-motivated
∎ The project will provide necessary training to the selected applicants
