Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting in development or humanitarian projects.
Experience in data collection, analysis, and monitoring systems.
Previous experience working in NGO or humanitarian programs in Cox’s Bazar or similar contexts will be an advantage.
Experience working with donor-funded projects (UN agencies preferred) is desirable.

Job Context:
Nari Maitree (NM), a well-established women-led national NGO with over 42 years of experience promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in Bangladesh, is implementing the project “Together We Lead: Placing Gender Equality at the Centre” in partnership with UN Women.
The project aims to promote transformative gender norms and strengthen leadership, agency, and resilience among forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals (Rohingya) and host communities in Cox’s Bazar. The project supports women’s leadership, gender equality, and protection through community engagement, Multi-Purpose Women’s Centers (MPWCs), capacity development initiatives, and community outreach activities.
The Monitoring Officer will play a key role in ensuring effective monitoring, data management, and reporting of project activities. The position will support the development and implementation of monitoring systems, track progress against project indicators, and ensure that data collected from field activities is accurate, timely, and aligned with donor requirements.
The Monitoring Officer will work closely with the project team to strengthen monitoring practices, promote evidence-based programming, and support reporting.
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Duty Station: Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar (with frequent travel to project locations in Camps & Host areas)
Contract Duration: Approx. 9 months
Key Responsibilities
Program Monitoring Framework (PMF) and Results-Based Management (RBM)
Development, refinement, and operationalization of the Program Monitoring Framework (PMF) for the project in alignment with the Results-Based Management (RBM) approach.
Ensure that project outcomes, outputs, indicators, targets, and means of verification are clearly defined and reflected in the Program Monitoring Framework (PMF).
Regularly update and maintain the PMF tracking system to monitor project progress against planned targets.
Support the project team in aligning work plans and implementation activities with the Program Monitoring Framework (PMF) and overall project results framework.
Monitor progress against key indicators outlined in the PMF and provide regular updates to project management.
Contribute to periodic review and updating of the PMF based on implementation progress, lessons learned, and donor requirements.
Monitoring and Data Collection
Develop and maintain monitoring tools, data collection formats, and tracking systems aligned with the Program Monitoring Framework (PMF).
Conduct regular field monitoring visits to project sites, including Multi-Purpose Women’s Centers (MPWCs) in Rohingya camps and host communities, to verify activity implementation and collect monitoring data.
Ensure collection of sex, age, and disability disaggregated data (SADDD) in line with gender-responsive monitoring practices.
Verify accuracy and completeness of data collected by field staff.
Support baseline assessments, periodic monitoring reviews, and end-line evaluations of the project.
Information Management and Data Systems
Establish and maintain a project information management system for tracking activities, outputs, and beneficiary data.
Maintain databases and monitoring trackers aligned with the Program Monitoring Framework (PMF).
Analyze project data to identify trends, achievements, implementation gaps, and areas requiring improvement.
Produce data summaries, monitoring dashboards, and visual reports to support evidence-based decision-making.
Reporting and Donor Compliance
Compile and analyze monitoring data to support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and periodic progress reports.
Support preparation of quarterly narrative and results reports, ensuring alignment with the Program Monitoring Framework (PMF) indicators.
Ensure consistency between monitoring data, narrative reports, and project targets.
Contribute to preparation of donor reports, program updates, and success stories.
GBV Information Management and Reporting
Support the project team in maintaining accurate reporting related to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) activities and services under the project.
Contribute to GBVSS/GBVIMS-compatible reporting, ensuring confidentiality and survivor-centered data management.
Ensure that GBV-related data is collected and reported in accordance with protection standards and ethical information management protocols.
