Job Context:
Nari Maitree (NM), a well-established women-led national NGO with over 42 years of experience promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in Bangladesh, is implementing the project “Together We Lead: Placing Gender Equality at the Centre” in partnership with UN Women.
The project aims to promote transformative gender norms and strengthen leadership, agency, and resilience among forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals (Rohingya) and host communities in Cox’s Bazar.
The Teacher – AAL will facilitate Accelerated Adult Learning sessions for women and adolescent girls at the Multi-Purpose Women’s Center (MPWC), focusing on functional literacy, numeracy, life skills, and gender equality awareness. The position will contribute to strengthening women's confidence, participation, and access to opportunities.

Duty Station: Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar
Assignment Duration: Tentative 09 months
Key Responsibilities
1. Facilitation of Learning Sessions
Conduct AAL classes using participatory and learner-centered methods.
Deliver structured literacy, numeracy, and life-skills education sessions.
Integrate gender equality, leadership, and empowerment messages within learning modules.
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
2. Curriculum Implementation
Follow the approved AAL curriculum and adapt learning materials according to learners’ needs.
Prepare lesson plans and teaching aids to support interactive learning.
3. Learner Support and Participation
Encourage active participation and peer learning among participants.
Identify participants who need additional support and provide guidance accordingly.
Promote regular attendance and learner motivation.
4. Monitoring and Documentation
Maintain attendance registers, lesson plans, and learner progress records.
Support baseline and end-line learning assessments.
Provide regular updates and reports to the Center Manager.
5. Community Engagement
Engage with families and community leaders to promote women’s education and participation.
Support community awareness on the importance of adult learning.
6. Safeguarding and Protection
Adhere to Nari Maitree’s safeguarding, PSEA, and protection policies.
Ensure confidentiality and safety of all participants.
