Bachelor’s in Development Studies, Urban and Rural Planning, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in relevant field.
Basic understanding of development issues in Bangladesh, especially in areas like WASH, energy, agriculture, or climate resilience (academic knowledge is acceptable).
Interest in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), research, and knowledge management.
Good communication skills in both English and Bangla (spoken and written).
Basic report writing and documentation skills.
Good understanding on MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work well in a team, including with colleagues from different functions or locations.
Willingness to learn and take guidance from senior team members.
Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.

The overall objective of this position is to support business development activities of the country office. The role will assist in promoting social enterprise interventions across national and international platforms and networks. In addition to supporting proposal development and fundraising efforts, the position will also provide support to the MEL team in preparing quarterly reports, KPI reports, indicator tracking, and other programme progress reports. The role will ensure that all tasks are carried out in line with organizational policies and country programme guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise and Business Development
Support the team to develop the social enterprise model for Practical Action Consulting focusing diversified product range addressing diversified community needs.
Support the development of a profile for Practical Action Consulting in Bangladesh using the updated brand guidelines. Assist in creating clear and engaging stories that highlight our impact, to help strengthen visibility with government, donors, clients, private sector partners, research institutions, and the media
Support in understanding the market and mapping potential partners. Assist in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including donors and clients, to contribute to future collaboration opportunities
Contributes to the fundraising and business development efforts for Practical Action keeping the suitability of both development and consulting entity.
Identify and inform the team about ongoing and future programme activities.
Support M&E-related business development activities, including assisting in baseline studies, mid-term reviews, and end-of-project evaluations. Contribute to data collection, coordination, and documentation under the guidance of senior team members.
Support in developing ideas and solutions for urban development projects, including areas like waste management, sanitation, and support for vulnerable communities such as refugees.
Assist in identifying and engaging with partners, including donors and financial institutions, to support programme development efforts.
Contribute to project design tasks, including helping prepare budgets, concept notes, scopes of work, and supporting documentation for quality and performance monitoring.
Support in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders such as government agencies, NGOs, development partners, and private sector organizations.
Quality Assurance-Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Reporting
Develop indicators of quality assurance of the programmes, and set up a framework and time bound action plan for implementing the QA Framework across the organization.
Provide required support for establishing effective MEL system across the intervention and ensure its routine functioning.
Coordinate in measuring most significant changes, biggest impact, assessing success and failure of a project.
Lead the preparation of the Quarterly report, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) report, Indicator milestone reports and other progress reports as required by the program delivery team.
Conduct Bi-monthly progress sharing meeting with the M&E Findings.
Contribute to the Annual Business Planning (ABP) process, through planning, coordination, organization, workshop facilitation, and preparation of the final report.
Support programme delivery team and thematic leads in developing new projects, writing periodic reports with quality.
Contribute to building team capacities related to MEL, participatory action research, various approaches of measuring change and evaluating projects.
Conduct routine monitoring visit and provide feedback to the respective management to improve the implementation quality of the project.
Support to Practical Action’s MEL and Research team and external consultants to conduct different studies namely, baseline, end-line evaluation, field research, etc.
Document the learning and best practices for use in the programme and future programme development.
Support to MEL and Research team to prepare global Indicators report of Practical Action
Follow the standard of Programmed Quality and Delivery (PQD) framework in every aspect of the MIS and study related activities.
Assist in preparing annual and donor reports with required analytical support.
Private Sector Engagement
Support in exploring ways to increase private sector involvement in waste management and sanitation services, including value chain activities.
Assist in identifying potential private sector partners, including opportunities related to corporate social responsibility (CSR), such as waste-to-energy and organic fertilizer initiatives.
Stay updated on new ideas, technologies, and trends in Bangladesh and globally related to private sector engagement and share relevant insights with the team.
Support the team in identifying opportunities for public-private partnerships (PPP) and contribute to related research and documentation.
Technical Programme and Support
Support in engaging with key stakeholders to understand development challenges and opportunities in Bangladesh.
Assist senior team members by providing support in technical, programmatic, and coordination tasks.
Help conduct research and gather information on waste and sanitation, including links to energy and organic fertilizer solutions.
Participate in meetings, workshops, and events, and assist in documenting key discussions and sharing insights from field-level experiences.
Communications and Reporting
Assist with the preparation of reporting requirements such as the Performance Plan and Report, Operational Plan, Portfolio Reviews, site visit reports, and requested analyses.
Work closely with programme implementation team to write, edit, and publish case studies, success stories and articles in various publications.
