- Minimum 3–4 years of progressive professional experience in financial audit and safeguarding
- Understanding on safeguarding, compliance, governance, risk management, audit, accountability, or organizational development.
- Experience working with NGOs, development organizations, donor-funded projects, or humanitarian programs.
- Experience in safeguarding investigations, risk assessment, compliance monitoring, or internal control systems.
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, PSEA, and survivor-centered approaches.
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks and internal control systems.
- Understanding of donor compliance requirements and NGO governance standards.
- Knowledge of fraud prevention, investigation, and accountability mechanisms.
- Strong report writing, analysis, and documentation skills.

Organizational Background
Badabon Sangho is a women’s rights and women led organization that works to promote women’s rights to land, water bodies and natural resources, climate justice and gender-based violence. Using a feminist approach, it builds women’s groups, federations and movements, so that women can raise their voices and claim their rights. Badabon Sangho is only working with marginalized unregistered women workers like fisherfolks, farmers, cleaners, garments, migrant workers, and indigenous artisans to promote social justice.
Position Purpose
The Manager–Safeguarding, Compliance, Audit is responsible for leading and strengthening organizational systems related to safeguarding, risk management, internal controls, compliance, accountability, fraud prevention, and ethical conduct.
The position provides strategic leadership and technical guidance to ensure that Badabon Sangho operates in accordance with organizational policies, donor requirements, legal obligations, and safeguarding standards. The role also promotes a culture of accountability, transparency, integrity, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Safeguarding Leadership
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of safeguarding systems and practices.
- Ensure effective implementation of Child Safeguarding, Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), and Adult Safeguarding policies.
- Promote safeguarding awareness among staff, volunteers, consultants, and partners.
- Oversee safeguarding incident reporting, case management, and follow-up actions.
- Ensure survivors are treated with dignity, confidentiality, and receive appropriate support and referrals.
- Monitor safeguarding compliance across all programs and operations.
Risk Management
- Lead organizational risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation processes.
- Develop and maintain the organizational risk register.
- Support management in identifying emerging risks and implementing mitigation measures.
- Facilitate regular risk review meetings and provide recommendations to senior management.
Compliance and Internal Control
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor regulations, statutory requirements, and relevant laws.
- Review and strengthen internal control systems to safeguard organizational resources.
- Conduct compliance reviews and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor implementation of policies and standard operating procedures across departments.
Fraud Prevention and Investigation
- Lead organizational efforts to prevent fraud, corruption, misconduct, and unethical practices.
- Manage reports of fraud and misconduct in accordance with organizational procedures.
- Conduct or oversee investigations and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Maintain confidential records and reporting mechanisms.
Audit and Assurance
- Coordinate internal audits, compliance reviews, and organizational assessments.
- Support external audits and donor compliance reviews.
- Track implementation of audit recommendations and corrective action plans.
- Provide assurance reports to senior management and governance bodies.
- Capacity Building and Awareness
- Develop and deliver training and awareness programs on safeguarding, compliance, ethics, fraud prevention, and risk management.
- Build staff and partner capacity to strengthen accountability and compliance practices.
- Promote a culture of learning, accountability, and ethical behavior.
Reporting and Governance Support
- Prepare regular reports for the Executive Director, Senior Management Team, and Governing board.
- Support governance committees with risk, safeguarding, and compliance updates.
- Monitor implementation of management decisions related to safeguarding, risk, and compliance.
- Facilitate organizational learning through analysis of incidents, audits, and assessments.
- Partnership Compliance
- Support partner organizations in strengthening safeguarding, risk management, and compliance systems.
- Conduct partner compliance assessments and monitoring visits.
- Ensure partners understand and comply with organizational and donor requirements.
