Responsibilities & Context:

·       Identify the psychosocial, socio-economic, and administrative needs for patients.

·       Actively promote the availability of counselling services and carry out, individual or in group counselling, basic psycho educational sessions, to patients, their families (when needed), to alleviate their psychosocial difficulties within the project scope.

·       Implementing the Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) protocol, identifying possible victims of SGBV and referring them to the medical team so that they receive the necessary treatment.

·       Refer patients to other specialists or other institutions for further assistance, when necessary, to propose the best support available.

·       Participate in the creation of any material needed for counselling activities and look after it,

·       Keep files and statistics of daily activities and participate in team meetings to share experiences and discuss special cases with other counsellors, preserving confidentiality.

·       Inform line manager of any problem of any kind arising during the day-to-day activities.

·       Take active part in trainings, supervisions/ Inter-vision and support the activities manager, when necessary, in doing sensitization for MSF staff or external partners about mental health /psychosocial issues.

·       Discuss difficulties and problems in counselling with supervisor.

·       To conduct facility -based awareness/ sensitization session in the OPD area with HP jointly/ seperately to identify new MH patients.

·       To conduct community based awareness/ sensitization jointly with HP to identify new MH patients and increase new pts referal activity.

·       To proactiviely participate in the community based/home based palliative care service & conduct psychosocial support session for the severe illness patients and their caregiver to reduce manage strss and acceptance of reality about diseases.

·       To proactively participate during the use of paediatric child screening tools in the OPD/ER and SRH area and ensure psychosocial support for the identified patients and their caregiver.

·       To identify the gap and and suggest to provide training and technical support for the facility based HPs regarding on identify & refer new MH patients.

·       To conduct home visit plan for the MH defaulter patients jointly/ seperately in the rohingya community if needed. Make sure proper psychosocial support for the patients and caregiver liason with the social worker.

·       To conduct MH consultations and group sessions (including play intervention) in the CFS align with MSF MHPSS guidelines by ensuring quality of care.

·       Actively collaborate and participate jointly in the session for the SRH/SGBV patients when needed.

·       Be flexible and  take own responsibilities to receive patients from MH waiting area during the MH register on leaves/ absence to keep continue the MH activity smoothly.
