Job Context
Nari Maitree (NM), a well-established women-led national NGO with over 42 years of experience promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in Bangladesh, is implementing the project “Together We Lead: Placing Gender Equality at the Centre” in partnership with UN Women.
The project aims to promote transformative gender norms and strengthen leadership, agency, and resilience among forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals (Rohingya) and host communities in Cox’s Bazar.
The Livelihood Officer will lead the implementation of livelihood and economic empowerment activities for women and vulnerable groups participating in the project. The role focuses on strengthening women's financial independence through skills development, entrepreneurship support, and market linkages.
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Duty Station: Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar
Key Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and monitor all livelihood and skills development activities at the MPWC in line with project objectives.
Support the identification and selection of women and girls for vocational, non-vocational and income-generating training programs.
Coordinate with trainers to facilitate training sessions, group discussions, and follow-up activities to enhance participants’ employability and entrepreneurship skills.
Identify local trades and market opportunities and build linkages for trained women to access employment or self-employment options.
Organize pop-up events/fair to promote the products developed at the MPWC.
Coordinate with the Camp-in-Charge (CiC) office, Livelihoods and Skills Development Sector (LSDS) and relevant sector partners for effective implementation of livelihood activities.
Ensure proper record keeping and documentation of beneficiaries, training data, and progress reports.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual activity reports, case studies, and success stories for BNPS and donors.
Maintain close communication with the MPWC Manager, Project Coordinator, and other team members for smooth project operation.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safeguarding standards and confidentiality protocols when dealing with participants.
Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor related to the project’s objectives.
