Experience:
A trade course or vocational qualification in Caregiving Level-3/4 or equivalent is essential. Additionally, candidates holding a Diploma or Certificate in Nursing, Midwifery, or a related health discipline from a recognized institution will be preferred.
Experience
· Minimum two years of practical experience in caregiving or a related occupation.
· Proven experience as a trainer or instructor in caregiving, health care, or vocational education.· Experience working in community-based or humanitarian settings with women or refugee groups preferred.
Skills and Competencies
· Proficient in providing care for infants, children, the elderly, and persons with special needs.
· Skilled in administering basic first aid and responding to emergencies.
· Strong instructional and facilitation skills— demonstration, guided and independent practice, role play, and assessment methods.
· Knowledge of competency-based training (CBT) methodology and ability to conduct both theoretical and practical sessions.
· Assessment and evaluation skills— conducting demonstrations, oral/written tests, and observing trainee performance.
· Excellent soft skills: effective communication, empathy, patience, teamwork and problem-solving.
· Culturally sensitive with understanding of gender and social norms in camp settings.
· Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting.
· Physically and mentally fit to demonstrate caregiving practices.
Languages
· Fluency in Bangla required.
· Knowledge of the Rohingya/Chittagonian dialect is highly desirable.
Job Context
Nari Maitree (NM), a well-established women-led national NGO with over 42 years of experience promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in Bangladesh, is implementing the project “Together We Lead: Placing Gender Equality at the Centre” in partnership with UN Women.
The project aims to promote transformative gender norms and strengthen leadership, agency, and resilience among forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals (Rohingya) and host communities in Cox’s Bazar.
The Trainer – Caregiver Session will conduct Caregiver Level-I vocational sessions for women and girls at the MPWC. The Trainer will design and deliver competency-based caregiving training in alignment with the approved curriculum and standards. The training will cover infant and child care, elderly care, care for persons with special needs, and basic first aid, while fostering dignity, empathy and professionalism among participants.
Reports to: Livelihood Officer.
Duty Station: Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar
Contract Duration: Approx. 9 months
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver structured caregiving training sessions following the accredited curriculum and training schedule.
Demonstrate practical caregiving skills, including hygiene, nutrition, elderly care, child care, and emergency response.
Apply competency-based training (CBT) methodologies combining theory and practice.
Use various instructional and facilitation techniques such as demonstration, guided and independent practice, role play and group discussions.
Conduct assessments through demonstrations, oral/written tests, and observation of trainee performance.
Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids and visual materials suitable for participants with limited literacy.
Maintain attendance records, progress reports and training documentation.
Ensure safe use and proper maintenance of training materials and equipment.
Promote awareness of gender equality, inclusion and ethical caregiving practices.
Provide feedback and recommendations to improve training delivery and participant engagement.
Submit periodic training reports and success stories to Livelihood Officer.
