Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering/Technology, with a specialization or strong hands-on background in weaving, knitting, or nonwoven/fibre processing preferred.
•Strong practical, hands-on mechanical and technical skills across weaving, knitting and fibre-processing machinery; sound trouble-shooting ability for construction and process defects.
•Working knowledge of weave/knit structure design and, where used, CAD/design software for pattern and construction development.
•Good leadership and shop-floor supervisory skills; strong cross-functional coordination with the Project Development Group and Testing Laboratory teams to keep sample flow moving efficiently.
•Sound understanding of machine safety, noise and dust control practices relevant to heavy textile machinery; fluency in Bengali, working English; comfortable with basic MS Office and sample/production tracking tools.
•Minimum 8–10 years' hands-on experience operating or supervising sample-making, pilot-plant or production-scale weaving, knitting, or nonwoven equipment in a textile mill, apparel manufacturer, or R&D/sampling environment.
•Practical experience across multiple fabric construction types (woven, knitted, non-woven) is a strong advantage; experience with elastic-yarn covering processes is a plus.
•Prior experience translating design/technical specifications into machine settings and sample constructions, and working alongside dyeing/finishing and testing teams, is preferred.
1.Pilot-Scale Prototype Production: Operate and manage prototyping machinery—including weaving, knitting, carding/garneting and yarn-covering equipment—to produce woven, knitted and non-woven fabric prototypes.
2.Technical Development: Translate technical specifications into machine settings and fabric constructions, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize prototypes to meet required specifications.
3.Machine Management: Oversee machine setup, changeovers, scheduling and routine technical maintenance; coordinate major servicing and new equipment requirements.
4.Project & Testing Coordination: Work closely with the R&D Projects team and Testing Laboratory to manage materials, prototype production, sample flow and testing requirements.
5.Team Management: Lead and develop machine operators and sample-makers, ensuring proper work allocation, technical competency and safe machine operation.
6.HSE & Compliance: Ensure safe operation of machinery and compliance with HSE policies, PPE requirements, housekeeping standards and applicable labour regulations.
7.Documentation & Traceability: Maintain machine settings, construction records, sample logs and technical documentation to ensure repeatability and full sample traceability.
8.Budget & Resources: Support planning and control of consumables, spare parts, operating requirements and capital investment for prototyping equipment.
