Education:

Diploma in Textile Engineering / Textile Technology, preferably with specialization or practical background in Wet Processing, Dyeing & Finishing or a closely related discipline.

Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering (Wet Processing Engineering / Textile Chemistry or related field) are also welcome; a Bachelor's degree will be considered an advantage, but is not mandatory.

Strong practical dyeing/finishing skills and relevant hands-on experience may be considered more important than a higher academic qualification.

•Preferably 3-7 years of practical experience in textile dyeing, finishing, colour development, sample development or a textile R&D / development laboratory.

•Hands-on experience operating laboratory dyeing machines and preparing dyeing recipes is strongly preferred.

•Practical experience with finishing, coating, tendering, calendaring, chemical dosing or colour evaluation equipment will be a significant advantage.

•Experience in a dyeing laboratory, sample development laboratory, mill R&D department or wet-processing development section is preferred.

•Candidates should be comfortable spending a substantial part of their working time directly handling chemicals, operating equipment and preparing samples.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

•Good practical knowledge of textile dyeing and finishing processes, machinery, dyes, chemicals and auxiliaries.

•Good understanding of the differences in dyeing requirements for cotton, polyester, nylon and common blends.

•Practical understanding of major dye classes and their application, including reactive, disperse and acid dyes; knowledge of other dye classes is an advantage.

•Ability to understand recipes and process parameters and make practical adjustments during development trials.

•Good practical problem-solving ability, accuracy in chemical preparation and strong attention to detail.

•Basic familiarity with colour measurement, spectrophotometric evaluation and colourfastness testing is an advantage.

•Fluency in Bengali (spoken and written) is required.

•Spoken and written English must be at a good working level for effective communication and for understanding technical manuals, specifications, standards and instructions. The candidate must be able to prepare clear, accurate and well-structured technical reports in English describing R&D trials, results, conclusions and recommendations.

•Good computer skills for preparing technical reports, recording experimental data and working with standard office software.

•Curiosity, willingness to learn new chemicals, technologies and equipment, and a hands-on approach to experimental work.

•Ability to work effectively with R&D staff, laboratory colleagues, testing personnel and factory teams.



Responsibilities & Context:

•Operate laboratory-scale dyeing machines and related equipment to prepare dyed fabric, yarn and garment samples for R&D projects.

•Prepare dyes, chemicals and auxiliaries accurately according to recipes, technical instructions and development targets.

•Set up and run dyeing trials for cotton, polyester, nylon and blended materials using appropriate dye classes and process conditions.

•Carry out practical adjustments to dyeing parameters such as temperature, time, liquor ratio, pH and chemical/auxiliary dosage to improve shade, levelness, fastness and hand-feel.

•Operate and support laboratory finishing, coating, calendering and tentering trials and prepare samples for functional or performance finishing development.

•Perform repeated development trials under instruction, compare results and make practical process adjustments until the required sample or target performance is achieved.

•Recognize routine dyeing, finishing, dosing or equipment problems, perform basic troubleshooting and report more complex issues to the R&D Project Manager or relevant technical personnel.

•Prepare and evaluate samples for shade matching and colour assessment using a spectrophotometer and standard viewing conditions.

•Coordinate or perform basic evaluation of colourfastness and finish performance, working with the Testing Laboratory when required.

•Record recipes, chemical dosages, machine settings, process conditions, observations, test results and conclusions accurately for every development trial.

•Prepare clear technical reports in English describing trial conditions, results, problems, modifications and final recommendations.

•Handle, store and dose dyes and chemicals safely and accurately, following laboratory safety requirements and chemical-handling procedures.

•Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, chemical working areas and sample records in an organized and safe condition.

•Learn to operate new dyeing, finishing and chemical-processing equipment introduced to the R&D Centre and support different R&D projects when required.
