Responsibilities & Context:
To ensure effective implementation of worker welfare programs, grievance management, employee engagement, and worker-management communication while supporting compliance with labor law, company policies, and buyer requirements.
Worker Welfare & Employee Relations
Manage overall worker welfare activities and ensure a positive and respectful workplace environment.
Handle worker grievances, complaints, suggestions, and workplace concerns through proper investigation, documentation, resolution, and follow-up.
Conduct regular worker interactions, floor visits, welfare meetings, and feedback sessions to identify employee concerns.
Coordinate Participation Committee (PC), Welfare Committee, Safety Committee, and other worker-management forums.
Support employee engagement, welfare, motivation, retention, and workplace relationship initiatives.
Monitor worker facilities including canteen, drinking water, toilets, rest areas, medical facilities, transportation, childcare, and other welfare services.
Social Compliance
Support implementation of social compliance policies, Bangladesh Labor Law, buyer Codes of Conduct, and international standards.
Assist in SMETA, BSCI, WRAP, SLCP, SEDEX, buyer social audits, and other compliance assessments.
Support preparation of audit documents, worker interviews, compliance records, and CAP follow-up.
Monitor working conditions, worker rights, disciplinary practices, working hours, leave, wages/benefits, and other welfare-related compliance matters.
Grievance & Investigation
Maintain an effective and confidential grievance management system.
Conduct preliminary investigation of complaints and coordinate with relevant departments for resolution.
Maintain grievance records, trend analysis, action plans, and management reports.
Ensure protection against retaliation and maintain confidentiality throughout the grievance process.
HR & Welfare Support
Support employee onboarding, orientation, counseling, attendance/leave-related issues, employee assessment, and separation activities.
Conduct welfare-related training and awareness sessions on labor rights, workplace behavior, grievance mechanisms, harassment prevention, and company policies.
Prepare regular welfare reports, grievance dashboards, employee feedback reports, and management updates.
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in HRM, Social Science, Business Administration, Management, or relevant discipline.
Diploma in Human Resource Management / Social Compliance from BIM will be an advantage.
5–7 years of relevant experience in RMG/garment manufacturing, preferably in Worker Welfare, HR, Social Compliance, or Employee Relations.
Experience in handling worker grievances, PC/Welfare Committee, buyer audits, and social compliance will be preferred.
Training on Social Compliance, Labor Law, Grievance Handling & Investigation.
Training on Worker Welfare, Employee Relations, POSH/Harassment Prevention, and Workplace Communication.
Knowledge of SMETA, BSCI, WRAP, SLCP, SEDEX, RSC/Nirapon, and buyer requirements.
