Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
10–15+ years of proven experience in woven garment production, with at least 3–5 years in a Production Manager role explicitly managing woven bottoms (5-Pocket Jeans & Chinos).
Technical Mastery: In-depth practical knowledge of garment construction, machine types/attachments, seam types, SMV/SAM calculations, and IE tools.
Management & Mindset: Proven track record of improving operator performance, strict implementation of 5S/Lean manufacturing, and maintaining high QA standards under pressure.
Skills: Strong leadership, assertive communication, quick problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making.
1. Production Planning & High-Productivity Execution
Lead, supervise, and optimize daily sewing and assembly operations for 5-pocket and Chino trousers to achieve or exceed target SAM/SMV production outputs in association with IE team.
Conduct detailed line balancing, bottleneck analysis, and capacity planning to ensure smooth, uninterrupted floor flow.
Assist in setting aggressive yet realistic daily production targets per line and actively work with supervisors to hit efficiency milestones.
Monitor Hourly Production Monitoring (HPM) boards and implement immediate corrective actions for any line drops.
2. Efficiency & Operator Skill Development
Work closely with Industrial Engineering (IE) teams to analyze motion studies, line layouts, and operator handling techniques.
Identify low-performing operators and implement structured on-the-job training and multi-skilling programs to uplift overall line efficiency.
Implement performance-driven incentives or motivation strategies on the floor to drive operator productivity.
3. Technical Expertise & Quality Assurance
Ensure strict adherence to approved pre-production (PP) sample guidelines, tech packs, and customer AQL standards from cutting to final packing.
Collaborate with the QA/QC team to maintain a Right First Time (RFT) culture, minimizing rework, defects, and garment rejection rates.
Deeply understand specific stitching complexities, machine attachments, folder setups, and automation tools unique to 5-pocket (e.g., waistband, pocket attachment, flatlock/chain stitch) and Chino construction.
4. Shop-Floor Discipline & Housekeeping (5S)
Enforce strict compliance with 5S methodologies across all sewing lines, aisles, cutting zones, and finishing sections.
Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas to ensure maximum safety and operational smooth-sailing.
Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for shift handovers, clean-down times, and material handling on the floor.
5. Resource & Waste Management
Monitor machine downtime and coordinate closely with the Maintenance/Mechanics department for preventive machine maintenance and rapid breakdown response.
Minimize fabric and trim wastage through efficient handling, accurate bundle tracking, and strict WIP (Work-In-Progress) management.
6. Leadership & Team Management
Manage, mentor, and evaluate line supervisors, floor incharges, and operational support staff.
Foster a disciplined, positive, and high-energy working environment that balances high targets with fair team leadership.
Coordinate daily production meetings to align factory targets, discuss quality issues, and solve operational hurdles.
