Responsibilities & Context:

Job Summary:

Physiotherapists assess, plan and implement rehabilitative programs that improve or restore human motor functions, maximize movement ability, relieve pain syndromes, and treat or prevent physical challenges associated with injuries, diseases and other impairments. Physiotherapist also responsible for the administrative management of involved clinical caseload, medical records & auditing requirements in line with standards of practice.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Assessment and provide physiotherapy interventions for patients in the areas of musculoskeletal, neurology, cardiopulmonary, neurology, women health and pediatrics in both inpatient and outpatient setting.
  • Prescription for appropriate assistive devices (eg: walking frame, crutches) of the patients through assessment and patient education on proper usage of devices.
  • Educate patient, family members or caretakers on the patient’s treatment plan and home / bedside exercise.
  • Documentation of patient medical progress and treatment; good communication with medical staffs (eg: doctors, nurses, medical assistants).
  • Training on therapy assistant to carry out basic assessment and exercise prescription for continual professional development.
  • To teach relatives and other health care workers when required.
  • Supervise work of less experienced physiotherapists/students; train and appraise junior staff; train other professions.
  • Actively seek and initiate projects to enhance the patient care.
  • The care, maintenance and proper use of materials, equipment and stationery and the accurate administration of any allocated inventories.
  • Ensure maintenance of high standards of recording, filing and storage of patient and statistical information in accordance with local policy.
