Experience:

• Diploma/Certificate in Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Additional training in ammonia refrigeration or industrial refrigeration systems is a plus.

• Proven experience working with ammonia-based refrigeration systems in a cold storage or industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles, HVAC systems, and ammonia safety protocols.Certification in ammonia refrigeration (e.g., RETA, IIAR, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA) related to ammonia systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair refrigeration equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, controls, and instrumentation.

Skills and Competencies:

• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work in cold environments for extended periods. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Strong understanding of safety procedures and emergency response planning.Physical ability to handle equipment and perform maintenance tasks.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cold Storage Technician with expertise in handling and maintaining ammonia-based refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of refrigeration systems, maintaining the cold storage facility, and adhering to all safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ammonia Refrigeration Systems Maintenance:
• Operate, monitor, and maintain ammonia-based refrigeration systems.Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.Identify and troubleshoot issues related to ammonia refrigeration equipment.
• Cold Storage Facility Management:
• Maintain temperature controls to ensure the safety and quality of stored products.Ensure the proper functioning of cold storage equipment, including compressors, condensers, and evaporators.Monitor storage conditions and respond to alarms or deviations promptly.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere to safety protocols for handling ammonia and other hazardous materials.Conduct risk assessments and maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.Train staff on ammonia handling and emergency procedures.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain logs of equipment performance and maintenance activities.Prepare and submit reports on system performance, breakdowns, and repairs.Support and Collaboration:Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure seamless cold storage operations.Provide technical guidance to junior staff as needed.
