Education:
    • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering
    • Masters
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable institute.

  • A postgraduate degree in Structural Engineering will be considered an added advantage.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in supervision of civil construction work related to industrial / chemical / pharmaceutical plants.

  • Experience of at least 1 project related to training labs / Vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics (VTD) / industrial / chemical / pharmaceutical facilities will be preferred.

  • Experience on a foreign-aided / externally-financed development project will be an added advantage.

Additional Requirements:

  • The applicants should have experience in the following area(s): Construction supervision, EPC / turnkey contract management, QA/QC, contract administration, building construction.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) and computer literacy are required.

  • The position is offered on a contractual basis with intermittent inputs (measured in person-months) over the project period.



Responsibilities & Context:
  • Assist the Team Leader in monitoring and supervision of the laboratory-testing and training-centre complex.

  • Take responsibility for overall construction management, quality assurance and administration of the EPC contract.

  • Supervise the construction work in accordance with the approved design and quality standards.

  • Carry out contract management and performance monitoring of the EPC contract.

  • Assist in finalizing the construction-supervision schedule, with timing, resources and stage-level permissions identified.

  • Monitor construction methods by assessing the adequacy of the contractor's input materials, labour, equipment and methods.

  • Review and monitor the contractor's detailed construction drawings.

  • Assist in third-party inspections, as required by the project.

  • Assist in interim and final certification of payment bills, and in issuing completion certificates.

  • Assist in preparing the Project Completion Report and progress reports.

  • Assist in contract interpretation and in resolving contractual issues during implementation.

  • Any other construction-related activity as required.
