Role Summary:

• The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of the scrap yard, ensuring that incoming materials are efficiently sorted, processed, and dispatched.

• This role requires a blend of "boots-on-the-ground" leadership and strategic administrative oversight to maximize recovery rates while maintaining a zero-incident safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Oversight: Manage the end-to-end processing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including shearing, baling, and shredding operations.

• Inventory & Logistics: Optimize yard layout for material flow; coordinate inbound deliveries and outbound shipments via truck or rail.

• Quality Control: Ensure accurate grading of materials (e.g., HMS 1/2, stainless, aluminum) to maximize resale value and prevent contamination.

• Maintenance Management: Implement a preventive maintenance schedule for heavy machinery (excavators with grapples, magnets, balers, and scales).

• Compliance & Safety: Enforce OSHA/HSE standards and environmental regulations regarding hazardous waste and runoff.

• Team Leadership: Supervise a diverse crew of operators, sorters, and drivers; manage shift scheduling and performance reviews.
