Required Experience and Technical Competencies

• 10–15 years of professional experience in highway engineering and road design projects.

• Strong practical experience in highway geometric design using Auto desk Civil 3D.

• Demonstrated knowledge of traffic engineering and highway traffic design principles.

• Working knowledge of pavement design methodologies and pavement materials.

• Proficiency in Auto CAD and preparation of detailed engineering drawings.

• Experience in reviewing survey data, earthwork quantities, road profiles, cross-sections, and design documentation.

• Knowledge of applicable international and national highway design standards.

Responsibility

• Perform highway geometric design, including horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, longitudinal profiles, cross-sections, intersections, roundabouts, and corridor modelling using Auto desk Civil 3D or Relevant Software.

• Review survey data, existing ground surfaces, topographic information, and project design criteria to develop highway design solutions.

• Conduct and review traffic engineering and traffic design activities, including traffic volume assessment, capacity considerations, road safety measures, pavement markings, and traffic signage.

• Prepare and review plan and profile drawings, typical cross-sections, earthwork cross-sections, corridor sections, quantity calculations, and construction/shop drawings.

• Review design calculations, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quantity estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Ensure compliance with applicable highway design standards, client requirements, and project specifications, such as AASHTO and relevant national road design manuals.

• Guide and technically support Highway Engineers and CAD Engineers in design development and drawing production.
