Educational Requirements:
∎ Education and Training: As a minimum a Bachelor's degree in risk management, engineering, safety management, or in a related discipline. Certification from recognized occupational health and safety body is necessary for the position

Job Responsibilities:
∎ As Health and Safety Officer:
∎ You will be responsible for promoting positive health and safety culture in a workplace.
∎ Your task is to maintain a safe work environment at the work site for company employees.
∎ You are expected to know the guidelines established by regulatory bodies and implement them in performing your duties and also provide health and safety training courses for employees to educate them on necessary safety procedures.
∎ You will conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify work areas that pose threats to life and property.
∎ You will be also required to draw up safe operational practices necessary to minimize risk of workplace accidents.
∎ You will carry out investigations on incidents, complaints, and recurrent health cases to identify and provide solutions to workplace situations.
∎ You will develop and implement internal health and safety policies/strategies necessary for optimized work processes.
∎ You will also inspect work machinery and equipment to ensure correct and safe installation.
∎ You will maintain accurate records of incidents and inspection findings in order to prepare reports useful in taking strategic safety decisions.
∎ You will be required to prepare and mount safety signs at appropriate locations to indicate potential hazard.
∎ Additional:
∎ As part of your responsibility, you will be required to maintain up-to-date knowledge of new HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) legislation as well as other developments that can impact a company

Additional Requirements:
∎ In depth knowledge of legislation and procedures
∎ Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
∎ Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
∎ Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
∎ Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
∎ Outstanding organizational skills
∎ Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
∎ Ability to travel outside Dhaka and stay for the whole time period of a project
