Skills Required:

Additional Requirements:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in dredging operations, heavy equipment operations, or large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Direct operational experience with IHC Beaver dredgers (Beaver 40/50/65 or equivalent) is highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience working with BIWTA and other government authorities on river or dredging projects.

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multi-site operations and work under challenging field conditions.

  • High level of problem-solving capability with a proactive, results-driven mindset.



Responsibilities & Context:

Location: Head Office (Hatirpool, Dhaka) with frequent field visits to dredging sites across Bangladesh

United Progressive Dredging Limited (UPDL) is a growing dredging and waterway development company executing river dredging and land reclamation projects across Bangladesh since 2014. The company operates three IHC Beaver Cutter Suction Dredgers and works closely with government agencies and private clients to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant dredging solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Take full operational ownership of multiple dredging projects utilizing IHC Beaver 50 dredgers, ensuring targeted production, cost control, and uninterrupted operations.

  • Plan and manage daily, weekly, and monthly dredging schedules, production targets, and equipment deployment.

  • Lead and supervise dredger masters, site engineers, survey teams, mechanics, and support crews across all project locations.

  • Actively resolve site-level and local challenges during dredging and production, including land access issues, river traffic interference, community concerns, and administrative obstacles.

  • Maintain strong and continuous coordination with BIWTA, local administration, port authorities, law enforcement agencies, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure operational clearance and compliance.

  • Ensure optimal utilization, preventive maintenance planning, and breakdown management of dredgers, pipelines, pontoons, and auxiliary equipment.

  • Monitor and analyze daily production logs, dredging output, fuel consumption, downtime reports, and operational costs; submit accurate management reports.

  • Enforce strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards as per project and statutory requirements.

  • Coordinate with procurement and stores to ensure timely availability of spare parts, consumables, and logistics support.

  • Support management in tender evaluation, project feasibility analysis, production estimation, and operational planning for upcoming dredging contracts.

  • Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and continuously improve operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
