  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Leather, Pharmaceuticals and FMCG industry.
  • Must have good knowledge of BLA 06, ILO, the Fire Act 03, NFPA, BNBC, and other applicable laws.
  • Must be skilled in report writing and drafting.
  • Should have sound knowledge of Social Compliance & EHS (Environmental Health and Safety).
  • Lead Auditor course in QMS/ISO 9001 or ISO 9001:2015 is a plus.


Responsibilities & Context:

Job context:

We are seeking a skilled Safety & Compliance professional to ensure adherence to employment laws, regulations, and industry standards. Key duties include conducting audits, implementing corrective actions, liaising with regulators, and providing training. The ideal candidate should be analytical, professional, and possess strong communication skills, with a focus on risk management, legal compliance, and employee relations.

Job responsibilities:

  • Ensure the organization’s compliance with relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Perform internal social compliance audits independently, prepare an action plan, and maintain a positive mindset to conduct audits anywhere in Bangladesh.

  • Take corrective action and monitor all measures as instructed by regulatory authorities.

  • Liaise with the local government, the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, the Ministry of Labor and Employment, the Department of Environment, and the Fire Service and Civil Defense, for the renewal of necessary business licenses.

  • Having extensive experience working with BSCI, SEDEX, WRAP, ISO-9001, ISO-14001, OEKO-TEX, LEED, ACORD/RCS (Fire, Electrical, and Structural), and other relevant industry standards.

  • Identify potential risks within business units and develop mitigation strategies in accordance with applicable laws.

  • Provide training and awareness programs on health and safety topics such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Chemical handling, First Aid, and Fire Safety.

  • Ensure the legal formation of the Participation Committee, Safety Committee, and other statutory committees in accordance with labor law.

  • Monitor the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to ensure strict adherence to environmental laws.

  • Manage various grievances effectively, especially regarding employee relations issues, and knowing how to conduct investigations thoroughly as and when required for any disputes or complaints in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on safety and compliance activities.
