Experience:

• Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) in Supply Chain Management
• Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

• Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Pharmacy, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification in supply chain or materials management will be an added advantage.

• Proven hands-on experience managing surgical consumables and OT-related items in a hospital setting.

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Plan, coordinate, and execute procurement of surgical items based on demand, consumption trends, and approved inventory levels.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, timely delivery, and cost-effective sourcing.
• Negotiate prices, terms, and service agreements with vendors in line with hospital procurement policies.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards.

Inventory Management

• Monitor stock levels of surgical consumables and instruments to prevent stock-outs or overstocking.
• Implement and maintain minimum, maximum, and reorder levels for surgical items.
• Conduct routine inventory audits, physical stock verification, and reconciliation with system records.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of surgical items as per safety and quality guidelines.

Coordination with Clinical & OT Teams

• Closely coordinate with Operation Theatre (OT), CSSD, and clinical departments to understand surgical requirements.
• Forecast demand for routine and emergency surgical procedures.
• Ensure timely supply of sterile and non-sterile surgical items to OT and wards.

Documentation & System Management

• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, GRNs, issue notes, consumption reports, and vendor invoices.
• Ensure all transactions are properly recorded in ERP / inventory management systems.
• Prepare periodic reports on stock status, consumption trends, expiry tracking, and cost analysis.

Quality, Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure all surgical items meet quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor expiry dates, batch tracking, and recall management if required.
• Prevent losses due to expiry, damage, pilferage, or improper handling.

Cost Control & Process Improvement

• Analyze consumption patterns to identify opportunities for cost savings and waste reduction.
• Support implementation of standardization initiatives for surgical items.
• Continuously improve supply chain processes for efficiency, accuracy, and service quality.

Authority & Accountability

• Authorized to coordinate procurement activities within approved limits.
• Accountable for availability, accuracy, and quality of surgical inventory.
• Responsible for ensuring zero disruption to surgical services due to material shortages.
