• Good knowledge of Automotive Painting and Paint Shop processes.

• Understanding of surface preparation, pretreatment, painting, and curing processes.

• Knowledge of paint defects, inspection methods, and corrective actions.

• Basic knowledge of paint thickness measurement and quality inspection tools.

• Understanding of paint materials, mixing ratios, and chemical handling.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance of paint shop equipment.

• Proficiency in MS Office and preparation of production/quality reports.

• Good communication, teamwork, and coordination skills.

• Strong safety awareness and knowledge of workplace safety practices.

• Positive attitude with willingness to learn and work under pressure

Job Purpose:

To support and monitor Paint Shop operations by ensuring product quality, process efficiency, and compliance with engineering and safety standards. The role will be responsible for maintaining painting process parameters, minimizing defects, optimizing material utilization, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to achieve production and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and control all paint shop operations to ensure product quality, productivity, and safety.

• Ensure proper surface preparation, pretreatment, painting, and curing processes as per specifications.

• Analyze paint defects such as peeling, blistering, orange peel, sagging, dust contamination, and color variation, and implement corrective actions.

• Monitor paint consumption, material utilization, and process parameters to minimize wastage and optimize costs.

• Maintain paint booth equipment, ovens, conveyors, and related facilities through preventive maintenance activities.

• Conduct root cause analysis of paint quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

• Ensure compliance with quality standards, environmental regulations, and workplace safety requirements.

• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth paint shop operations.

• Prepare daily production reports, MIS, quality reports, and other relevant documentation.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance paint quality, process efficiency, and operational performance.

• Perform any other duties or assignments as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
