We are a small growing business producing and exporting handmade wooden products to international customers. We are looking for a reliable and practical Business Assistant to help with the day-to-day running of the business.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate with workshop workers and make sure production is progressing

- Check finished wooden products for quality, size and defects

- Keep track of stock, materials and finished products

- Help arrange purchases of wood, packaging and other supplies

- Coordinate packing and shipments

- Communicate with suppliers, transport companies and export agents

- Help with export documents and basic paperwork

- Keep records of purchases, production, stock and shipments

- Take photos/videos of products and production when required

- Report problems and delays promptly

- Provide regular updates on the progress of the business

- Carry out other practical tasks needed to keep the business running smoothly

- Comfortable working with workshop workers and suppliers

- Able to solve everyday problems independently

- Good with basic phone/computer work and record keeping

- Willing to learn about wooden products and exporting

- Able to take responsibility and follow tasks through to completion

Previous experience in a workshop, manufacturing, trading, export or small business is an advantage, but practical ability and reliability are more important.

This is a hands-on role in a growing business. The right person will have the opportunity to take on more responsibility as the business grows.
