Responsibilities & Context:
  • To draw up the master schedule to establish the production sequence and lead time of each production to meet export dates according to customer orders or sales forecasts.

  • To explore production specifications and maintain the plant capacity data. To fulfill the mathematical calculations for manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.

  • To improve the production and distribution process, have to apply the knowledge of supply chain and distribution management.

  • Prepares a plan and schedules workflow for each department. To give guidance to the production team for production.

  • To determine the updated status of assigned projects has to confer with department heads.

  • To meet unexpected conditions, the production planner makes a hurried operations plan for solving the delay schedules or alters schedules.

  • To keep and update all purchasing records and information that come from the buyer.

  • Prepares daily production reports.

  • To make lists of required materials, tools, and equipment. Productivity analysis - person should know how to analyze the labor productivity of the factory and sewing lines.

  • Estimating line capacity for all new development styles based on garment sketches or samples.

  • CMT estimation - Providing estimated labor cost (CMT) and productivity to the merchandising department.

  • Data analysis - Need to do data analysis and look into monthly trends of each KPI (key performance indicator) and control them after setting a benchmark.

  • Style simplification and method improvement - after order confirmation, he needs to re-analyze the evaluated garment for better and more economical methods to reduce the labor cost per garment to stay within the safe margin.

  • Operation bulletin - Making and approving OBs is one of the main tasks. Releasing style OB, line layout, and thread consumption chart for line(s) to be done based on the scheduled plan.

  • Doing research and exploring new machinery and latest systems that meet companies` long-term goals and preparing cost-benefit analysis and ROI for the same.

  • Must take initiative on lean manufacturing, learning of lean tools and looking for scope of implementation in the factory Research and development for samples prior to production start.
