• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in costing software and tools used in the garment industry.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.

Cost Estimation:

Develop and maintain cost models for various garments, considering fabric consumption, labor costs, production time, and overheads.

Process Analysis:

Analyze production processes to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.

Standard Minute Value (SMV) Calculation:

Calculate SMV for different garments to determine labor costs and ensure accurate costing for new and existing styles.

Material Utilization:

Work closely with the design and procurement teams to optimize fabric utilization and reduce wastage.

Time & Motion Studies:

Conduct time and motion studies to determine the most efficient methods of production and establish standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Costing & Pricing:

Collaborate with the merchandising team to ensure accurate costing and pricing strategies that align with market demands and profitability goals.

Capacity Planning:

Assess factory capacity and suggest improvements to balance workload, reduce bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization.

Cost Control:

Monitor production costs throughout the manufacturing process, identifying and addressing any variances from the standard costing.

Vendor Management:

Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best quality materials at competitive prices.

Continuous Improvement:

Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve productivity, and enhance product quality using Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant methodologies.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

Prepare detailed reports on cost analysis, production efficiency, and other key metrics to support decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Liaise with production, quality, merchandising, and finance teams to ensure that costing aligns with operational capabilities and financial targets.
