Experience:
B.Sc. or M.Sc. Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
5-7 years of experience in salt manufacturing, edible salt processing, chemical industries, or quality control laboratories.
Experience in iodized salt production will be given preference.
Sound knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and quality control systems.
Familiarity with BSTI standards and food safety regulations.
Proficiency in MS Office and laboratory documentation.
Good analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Conduct physical and chemical analysis of raw salt, processed salt, and finished products as per company standards.
Monitor and control product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Perform routine laboratory testing, including moisture, purity (NaCl content), iodine content, insoluble matter, and other relevant parameters.
Ensure compliance with BSTI standards, food safety requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and testing records accurately.
Prepare and review laboratory reports, certificates of analysis (COA), and quality documentation.
Monitor iodization processes and ensure correct iodine dosage in edible salt production.
Investigate quality deviations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinate with production and quality assurance teams to maintain consistent product quality.
Conduct incoming raw material inspections and approve or reject materials based on test results.
Assist in developing and improving production processes to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of laboratory chemicals and reagents.
Maintain laboratory safety standards and comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Participate in internal audits, regulatory inspections, and certification activities.
Maintain calibration records of laboratory instruments and testing equipment.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports for management.
Support new product development, process optimization, and quality improvement initiatives.
Perform any other laboratory and quality control-related duties assigned by management.
