The Assistant Production Manager (APM) – Injection Molding Section will be responsible for managing and supervising the overall production activities of the Injection Molding Section during the assigned shift. The position will ensure smooth operation of injection molding machines, achievement of production targets, product quality, manpower utilization, machine efficiency, and adherence to safety and production standards.
The company produces various plastic products through the Injection Molding process, including Plastic Wardrobe, Dining Table, Kitchen Rack, Chair, Master Bike, Walker, and other related plastic products.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Management
Plan, organize, supervise, and control all production activities during the assigned shift.
Ensure the achievement of daily and monthly production targets as per the approved production plan.
Monitor production output, cycle time, machine utilization, and overall productivity.
Ensure smooth and continuous operation of Injection Molding machines.
Coordinate with the Production Manager and other concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted production.
2. Machine & Process Monitoring
Monitor Injection Molding machine parameters and ensure proper production processes.
Ensure appropriate machine settings, including temperature, pressure, cycle time, and other relevant parameters.
Identify production abnormalities and take immediate corrective action.
Coordinate with the Maintenance Department for timely troubleshooting and repair of machines and equipment.
Minimize machine downtime and production loss.
3. Quality Control
Ensure that all products meet approved quality standards and specifications.
Monitor product quality during production and identify defects or non-conformities.
Take immediate corrective and preventive actions to reduce rejection, wastage, and rework.
Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) Department regarding product quality issues.
4. Manpower Management
Supervise operators, technicians, helpers, and other production personnel during the assigned shift.
Ensure proper manpower deployment and optimum utilization of available resources.
Maintain discipline, punctuality, productivity, and workplace efficiency.
Provide necessary guidance and on-the-job training to production employees.
5. Material & Wastage Control
Ensure proper utilization of raw materials and production materials.
Monitor material consumption and control wastage, rejection, and scrap generation.
Ensure proper handling and utilization of rejected materials and reusable scrap as per company policy.
Coordinate with the Store and relevant departments to ensure the availability of required materials.
6. Shift Management & Reporting
Ensure proper shift handover and takeover between production shifts.
Maintain production records, machine performance records, manpower records, and other relevant reports.
Prepare and submit daily production reports to the concerned authority.
Report any major production, quality, machine, or manpower issues immediately.
7. Safety & Housekeeping
Ensure compliance with factory safety rules and regulations.
Maintain proper housekeeping and workplace discipline in the Injection Molding Section.
Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by employees.
Promote a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
8. Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for improving productivity, machine efficiency, product quality, and cost control.
Participate in initiatives to reduce production losses, rejection, wastage, and machine downtime.
Suggest improvements in production processes and operational efficiency.
