Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline; Master’s degree/ MBA preferred.
Proven experience (10–14 years) in a managerial role within aluminium, metal, steel, glass, or heavy manufacturing industries.
In-depth knowledge of aluminium manufacturing processes, production planning, quality systems, industrial safety standards and managing large-scale industrial operations effectively.
Sound knowledge of HSE regulations, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and process improvement methodologies.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
Responsibilities & Context:
This role will lead the overall operations and performance of the Aluminium Plant, driving production efficiency, product quality, safety, and operational excellence. The position will oversee strategic planning, plant commissioning and operational readiness, process optimization, resource management, team leadership, and continuous improvement to establish a high-performing manufacturing operation aligned with AkijBashir Group’s growth objectives.
1. Develop and implement operational and production strategies for the aluminium plant to achieve organizational objectives.
2. Supervise daily plant operations, ensuring optimum productivity, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.
3. Monitor aluminium production processes, including melting & casting, Die shop, extrusion, Anodizing, fabrication, Powder coating, and related maintenance.
4. Ensure compliance with quality standards, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
5. Coordinate with Quality Assurance teams to reduce defects, wastage, and process variations.
6. Lead, mentor, and manage production, maintenance, and technical teams to improve performance and operational discipline.
7. Analyze production and operational data for improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
8. Coordinate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Maintenance, and Commercial teams for smooth plant operations.
9. Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance activities for machinery, utilities, and equipment.
10. Manage plant budgets, production costs, manpower utilization, and resource optimization.
11. Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
12. Monitor KPIs such as production output, downtime, rejection rate, OEE, and energy consumption.
13. Prepare and present operational reports, production forecasts, and performance analyses to senior management.
14. Support plant expansion, modernization, and capacity enhancement projects when required.
