Responsibilities & Context:

1) Implement a Fire Safety Management System in compliance with Bangladesh Labor Law, BNBC, Fire Service & Civil Defense requirements, NFPA guidelines, ISO 45001, and company policies.

2. Inspect fire detection and protection systems, including fire extinguishers, hydrants, fire pumps, standpipe system, smoke detectors, fire alarms, fire doors, hose reels, and other firefighting equipment to verify operational readiness.

3. Assess fire risks across the plant to identify hazards and take corrective and preventive measures.

4. Ensure the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system for hot work and other high-risk activities.

5. Develop and maintain Emergency Response Plans (ERP), statutory records, inspection reports, fire safety registers, occupancy records, and other compliance documents.

6. Organize fire drills, evacuation exercises, firefighting demonstrations, and fire safety training programs.

7. Lead the initial response to any emergency incidents while coordinating with Fire Service & Civil Defense, Security, and other relevant departments.

8. Investigate fire incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to identify root causes, prepare reports, and monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

9. Liaise with Fire Service & Civil Defense, regulatory authorities, auditors, and other external stakeholders regarding inspections, certifications, and statutory compliance.

10. Support the Environmental Health & Safety management team by participating in safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and continual improvement initiatives.

11. Collaborate with Security, HR, and other departments to integrate fire prevention practices into daily operations.

12. Prepare periodic fire safety reports, analyze safety performance, recommend improvement initiatives, and carry out any other responsibilities assigned by the reporting manager.
