Responsibilities & Context:
Product Design & Development
Develop innovative furniture concepts and new product designs based on market trends and customer requirements.
Design furniture products for Wood, Laminated Board (LB), Cane & Steel (C&S), Metal, and other furniture categories.
Prepare detailed design drawings, technical specifications, and production-ready documentation.
Create 2D and 3D models, renderings, and presentations for management approval.
Develop prototypes and coordinate product testing before commercial production.
Research & Innovation
Conduct market research on local and international furniture trends.
Analyze competitor products and identify opportunities for new product development.
Introduce innovative materials, construction methods, and design concepts.
Recommend improvements to existing products for better functionality, aesthetics, and cost efficiency.
Production Coordination
Work closely with Production, Engineering, Procurement, and Quality teams to ensure design feasibility.
Resolve design-related production issues and provide technical support during manufacturing.
Ensure product designs are optimized for efficient production and material utilization.
Participate in pilot production and product launch activities.
Technical Documentation
Prepare product specifications, Bills of Materials (BOM), cutting lists, and assembly instructions.
Maintain design databases, drawings, and revision records.
Ensure all design documents are updated and properly controlled.
Cost & Quality Optimization
Design products considering target cost, quality standards, and customer expectations.
Suggest value-engineering initiatives to reduce product cost without compromising quality.
Ensure compliance with company quality standards and manufacturing capabilities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with Sales and Marketing teams for customer feedback and product improvement.
Support promotional materials, catalogs, and product presentations when required.
Assist management in strategic product development initiatives.
Other Responsibilities
Maintain confidentiality of design concepts and intellectual property.
Perform any other duties assigned by management related to product design and development.
